O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent to investigate the case in Crime No.577 of 2015 and file a Charge Sheet expeditiously.

2. It is seen that this petitioner's son had drowned in the sea at Kottakuppam in Pondicherry, while he gone for a picnic with his friends, in connection with which, a case in Crime No.577 of 2015 has been registered by the Kottakuppam Police Station for man missing. The petitioner filed HCP No.1869 of 2015, in which, this court passed the following order: "3. The respondent - police have filed a status report dated 30.11.2015 narrating the steps that have been taken by them to rescue the detenu.

4. The third respondent, who had accompanied the detenu, has also filed counter affidavit, wherein he has narrated the events that had happened on the fateful day.

5. In view of the above, we find that it is not a case of illegal detention warranting issuance of Writ of Habeas Corpus. Accordingly, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. However, with a direction to the respondent - police to proceed with the investigation in Crime No.577 of 2015 and keep the petitioner informed about the developments."

3. Now, the petitioner has come forward with a direction to the respondent Police to complete the investigation expeditiously. In a case of this nature, no such directions can be passed. However, the respondent Police is directed to post the details of the deceased in the Police website, so that if there is any information about the petitioner's son, the police can take action there on.
