Kolanthaivelu Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 7 to remove the encroachment made by the 8th respondent in R.S.No.214 in Pungampadi Village, Perundurai Taluk, Erode District and to bring the land to its original form by considering the petitioner representation dated 12.03.2024.

ORDER

(Made by G.R. SWAMINATHAN, J.) Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the official respondents. Issuance of notice to respondent No.8 is dispensed with.

2. According to the petitioner, R.S.No.214 in Pungampadi Village is a public road and respondent No.8 is squatting on it. The petitioner has given a representation dated 12.3.2024 for removing the said encroachment.

3. We direct respondent No.4 to enquire into the petitioner's representation, after issuing notice to respondent No.8 and other encroachers, if any. If the encroachment is confirmed, the same shall be removed by adhering to due process of law. The entire process shall be completed within a period of four months.

4. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
