ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by L.Victoria Gowri J.) The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to remove the encroachment of road made by the 6th and 7th respondents in the Odai Poramboke situated in Survey No.38/1 and 39/1 of Vellodai Village, Dharmapuri Taluk and District based on the representation dated 06.03.2026.

2. Heard Mr.D.Veerasekaran, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Balathandayutham, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 5. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, notice to the respondents 6 and 7 is dispensed with.

3. It is needless to state that, whenever a representation is made to the statutory authorities, it is the duty of the authorities to dispose of the same within a limited period and non-consideration of the representation would amount to dereliction of duty.

4. In view of the same, the respondents 1 to 5 are directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.03.2026 within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
