ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R. SURESH KUMAR, J.) Pursuant to our last order dated 03.03.2026, the Presiding Officer of Debts Recovery Tribunal, Coimbatore, has filed a detailed affidavit dated 06.03.2026.

Having gone through the same and after hearing Mr.B.Jeyesh Dolia, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the borrower(s) and Mrs.K.Jayaganga, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Bank, we are inclined to pass the following orders:- (i) That, since the matter has already been referred to the Mediation Centre by the order dated 11.02.2026 and it is brought to our notice that the next date was fixed by the Mediation Centre as 06.04.2026 and there is a likelihood of a settlement on that date, we deem it appropriate to give one month's time from today to complete the mediation and report to the Debts Recovery Tribunal, Coimbatore, as to whether settled or not settled, as the case may be.

(ii) Once the matter is settled, it could be recorded and disposed by the Debts Recovery Tribunal, Coimbatore, or if the matter is not settled and a non-settlement report is received from the Mediation Centre within the one month's time, then, a maximum period of two months is given to the Debts Recovery Tribunal, Coimbatore, to complete the trial and pass final orders on merits of the said OA.

(iii) This order is passed by taking note of the earlier order passed by a Division Bench of this Court by the order dated 29.07.2025, where the outer limit of two months alone was ordered. The present extension since is at least more than six months from that criteria of the two month's period. Therefore, beyond which, no further extension of time could be expected by the Debts Recovery Tribunal, Coimbatore.
