ORDER

By alleging wilful disobedience of the order dated 02.01.2024 in W.P.No.30338 of 2023, the present contempt petition was filed. By the said order, the 1st respondent therein was directed to conclude the verification of the certificate within 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It was further directed that the petitioner would be entitled to provisional release of goods on providing a bond for 100% of the value of the goods, if verification is not completed within the above mentioned period of 30 days. The alleged contemnor has filed an affidavit dated 12.08.2024 stating that the goods were reassessed provisionally on 07.05.2024 and that the importer was informed of the same by the letter dated 10.05.2024. It is further stated therein that the goods were examined on 05.08.2024 in the presence of the customs broker and that the goods were out of charged and ready for delivery after payment of duty.

2. At the hearing today, there is no representation for the contempt petitioner. By taking note of the alleged contemnor's affidavit, this contempt petition is closed.
