PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing the Respondents herein from making any construction for burial ground in the water channel in Villupuram District, Villupuram Taluk, Kandamangalam Union, V.Mathur Panchayat, VM.Nagari Village, S.No.419, obstructing the water flow for the irrigation purposes. Ms.Nivedha, representing counsel for the petitioner, states that the petitioner has passed away pending writ petition and the counsel are unable to contact the legal heirs. In any event, the prayer in the writ petition is for a mandamus forbearing the respondents from making any construction for burial ground in the water channel in Villupuram District, Kandamangalam Union, V.Mathur Panchayat, VM.Nagari Village, S.No.419, obstructing the flow of water for irrigation.

2.Mr.Veda Bagath Singh, learned Special Government Pleader, who appears for R1 and R2 would assure the Court that while there was a tentative proposal in 2014 as

apprehended by the petitioner, the same has not been proceeded with and will not, he assures the Court, be taken forward. Any proposal for construction of water channel will be strictly and scrupulously in accordance with law. 3.Recording the above, this writ petition is closed. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
