O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The parking problem at the Chennai Central Railway Station has aggravated, as the Metro work, over a period of time, has continued to require a larger work area. A plan has been produced before us, which is marked as 'A', which shows that a regular car parking space of 61 cars is available, where contract is stated now to have been awarded. In respect of the premium car parking of 48 cars, the tender is stated to be opening on 22.06.2015 and the learned counsel for Railways assures that within a period of one month thereafter, the tender will be finalised.
2.In the meantime, we direct that qua this premium car parking, the Railways should make arrangements through their own personnel to monitor the same. The Railways can compensate itself by collecting the charges for the premium car parking and appropriating it in the meantime. Needless to say that the concerned police authorities, being the 7th and 8th respondents would render all assistance at the site.
3.Writ Petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. No costs. Sd/- Asst.Registrar (CS II ) /true copy/ Sub Asst.
