ORDER

Heard Mr.J.S.Arunkumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader accepting notice for the respondents 1, 2 and 4 ; and Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned counsel accepting notice for the 3rd respondent and with their consent, the writ petition itself is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider his representation dated 14.03.2015.

3.The petitioner is a Ward Councilor of the Chennai Corporation and he seeks permission for erecting a Statue of Dr.Ambedkar in Dr.Ambedkar Playground at Mugappair Eari Scheme. 4.The learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that with regard to the grant of permission for erection of Statues in public places, the Honourable Supreme Court has seized of the matter and issued certain directions in SLP. [Civil] No.8519/2006 dated 18.01.2013 and all the State Governments have been directed to strictly implement the orders and unless and until the petitioner seeks appropriate clarification from the Honourable Supreme Court, the respondents will not be in a position to grant any permission, in the light of the above interim order granted by the Honourable Apex Court.

5.Taking into consideration the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the writ petition is disposed of leaving it open to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law. No costs.
