ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to produce the body or person of the petitioner's daughter viz., Anitha, D/o.Mani, aged about 25 years, before this Court and set her at liberty forthwith. 2.

It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Anitha, aged about 25 years, went missing from 28.08.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

On instructions, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Thiruvallur Taluk Police Station Crime No.484 of 2021 was registered on 28.08.2021 for 'woman missing' and the preliminary enquiry conducted by the police revealed that the detenue Anitha has eloped with one Saranraj, who is said to be a married man; on a complaint given by Priyadharshini, wife of Saranraj, a case in Vengal Police Station Crime No.496 of 2021 for 'man missing' has been registered.

In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Thiruvallur, to monitor the investigation in Thiruvallur Taluk Police Station Crime No.484 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Anitha, aged about 25 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Thiruvallur, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
