Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the Second Respondent to number and dispose of the appeal dated 19.09.2016 filed by the Petitioner under Section 18 (1) of the Arms Act 1959.

Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the Respondents, on instructions, states that the appeal has been taken on file and hearing for the same has been fixed at 4.45 p.m on 15.10.2019 before the Second Respondent, for which copy of the notice of enquiry has been produced. Learned Counsel for the Petitioner acknowledges its receipt. It is informed that the appeal is expected to be disposed within a period of three months from 15.10.2019.

The Petitioner and other concerned parties shall attend the hearing before the Second Respondent, on the said hearing as well as on the subsequent dates to which it is adjourned and extend their co-operation for the expeditious disposal of the matter. It shall be ensured that there is atleast one effective hearing every week showing progress of the case. The Second Respondent after giving full opportunity of hearing to all parties concerned, shall consider each of their contentions and pass reasoned order on merits and in accordance with law and communicate the decision taken to all parties under written acknowledgment. A report of compliance of the action taken shall be filed before the Registrar (Judicial) of this Court by 31.01.2020.

The Writ Petition is disposed on the aforesaid terms. No costs.
