Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to issue Weaver Credit Card to the members of the Petitioner/Society as directed by the 1st respondent within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

Heard Mr.R.Arun Dattan, learned counsel for the petitioner ; Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader accepting notice for the 1st respondent and with their consent, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself. 2.In view of this writ petition being disposed of at the admission stage, notice to the 2nd respondent is dispensed with.

3.The petitioner is a Cooperative Society consisting of Weavers and they have sought for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to issue Weavers Credit Card to the members of the petitioner/Society, as per the recommendation made by the 1st respondent in his communication dated 07.01.2015. 4.The 1st respondent, by the said communication, has recommended the case of the members of the petitioner/Society for being entitled for the benefit of the Central Government Scheme and issuance of Weavers Credit Card. Since the request of the petitioner has not been processed by the 2nd respondent/Bank, the petitioner is before this Court.

5.Since the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage without notice to the 2nd respondent, no positive direction can be issued in this writ petition and it would be suffice to direct the 2nd respondent to take note of the recommendation of the 1st respondent dated 07.01.2015 and proceed in accordance with law. 6.Accordingly, there will be a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's request, by taking note of the recommendation made by the 1st respondent in his communication dated 07.01.2015 and proceed in accordance with law and if there is no other legal impediment, the members of the petitioner/Society shall be considered for granting the benefit of the Weavers Credit Card. The above direction shall be complied with by the 2nd respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
