Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to provide an adequate police protection to the petitioner and petitioner's husband's life on the basis of the petitioner representation dated 27.03.2015.

ORDER

Heard Mr.T.Arockiadoss, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 and perused the materials available on record.

2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for a direction to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and to her husband, Mashach. The 4th respondent herein is the father of the petitioner and the petitioner is aged about 19 years, doing her II year B.Com in Vaishnav College at Chrompet, Chennai. It appears that the petitioner fell in love with Mashach and they are said to have married each other. The petitioner's husband is also a student pursuing his Aeronautical Engineering course at a College in Chennai. The reason for filing this writ petition is by stating that the marriage is an inter-caste marriage and she apprehends life threat to her life at the instance of her father, the 4th respondent herein.

3.The petitioner and her husband as well as the father of the petitioner and her husband's father are also present in Court and this Court interacted with them. From the interaction of this Court with the 4th respondent, it appears that the 4th respondent is emotionally shaken up on account of the decision taken by his daughter/the petitioner herein and it appears that there is no threat meted out by him to his daughter. As of now, the petitioner and her husband are living separately and her husband's father, who appeared before this Court today, would state that he would render all support and assistance to the couple if they come to the native place. 4.In the light of the above, the reason for the petitioner approaching this Court, appears to be without any basis as there is no threat meted out by the petitioner's father.
