PRAYER: Criminal Original petition is filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, directing the second respondent police to expedite the investigation in Crime No.22 of 2020 on the file of the second respondent police and file the final report within a stipulated time period as may be fixed by this Court. ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent police to expedite the investigation in Crime No.22 of 2020 on the file of the second respondent police and file the final report within a stipulated time period as may be fixed by this Court.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that though the respondent has registered a case in the above said crime number on 10.08.2020, no final report is filed till date.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the respondent police may be permitted to file a final report within a period of four months. 5.In view of the above, the respondent police is directed to either file a final report or closure report, as the case may be, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order under due intimation to the defacto complainant.

6.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
