ORDER
Heard Mr.S.Joel, the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.L.Mahendran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent and Mr.B.Anandan, learned counsel appearing for the second respondent and with the consent of either side, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.
2. The petitioner is a physically challenged person, suffering from 100% blindness in both the eyes. He made a request to the respondents for allotment of a shop in the bus stand complex at Kothagiri, on preferential basis. Taking into consideration his disability, the respondents considered the request positively and allotted him a shop. The grievance of the petitioner is that the rent was initially fixed at Rs.2112/- and is now been increased to Rs.18,720/-. Therefore, the petitioner requested the authorities to reduce the rent. Though the petitioner is agreeable for a reasonable increase, in this regard representation is pending. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. It is not known as to whether the second respondent is empowered to reduce the rent. But however, taking into consideration the fact that the petitioner is a physically challenged person suffering from 100% visual impairment, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation in accordance with law and also taking note of his disability and pass appropriate orders within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
