2.All the learned counsel for parties are ad idem that in pursuance to certain observations inter alia of the Hon'ble Supreme Court, an order was issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, dated 16.12.2014 constituting a Committee to undertake a comprehensive review of

the said Act. According to the learned counsel for the petitioners, this process is still on. It is their submission that in case their grievances are rectified wholly or substantially, the occasion to press the petitions may not arise. It is their further submission that the aspects raised in these petitions may also be examined by the Committee to obviate any future litigation.

2.We would agree with the aforesaid submissions, but wishing that the committee must complete its task within a time bound schedule. In fact, as per the order dated 16.12.2014, the committee was expected to complete the task within 45 days from its first meeting.

3.We have put to learned counsel for the petitioners that there would be no purpose in keeping these petitions alive and once the proposed amendments are made, the same would be a fresh cause of action depending on whether any grievance still survives and if so, to what extent. Learned counsel for the petitioners do not dispute the position, though they expressed an apprehension that if nothing is done and the status quo prevails, then they may be back to square one. In such an eventuality, we are of the view, that they can even seek to revive the present petitions, though a chance of this kind appears to us to be remote, as the very fact that a Committee has been constituted would imply that there would be some review. 5.We, thus, dispose of these petitions with the aforesaid liberty. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.

6.We, however, list the matters for compliance to verify what is the stage reached by the Committee carrying out the review.
