Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.01.2015 for free scholarship of first graduate scheme and to disburse the arrears in the light of the G.O.Ms.No.85 of the Higher Education (J2) Department dated 16.04.2010 within limited time frame.

O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed by the petitioner praying that, this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.01.2015, for free scholarship, as per the G.O.Ms.No.85, Higher Education (J2) Department, dated 16.04.2010.

2.The petitioner has stated that she had joined in the Paramedical Course, during the year 2010-11. Thereafter, she had joined B.Sc. Nursing Course in the second respondent college. Even though, she is the first graduate in her family, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

her representation, dated 29.01.2015, had not been considered by the first respondent, in view of G.O.Ms.No.85, Higher Education (J2) Department, dated 16.04.2010. In such circumstances, the petitioner has prayed that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent, to consider the representation, dated 29.01.2015 and pass appropriate orders thereon, in view of G.O.Ms.No.85, Higher Education (J2) Department, dated 16.04.2010, within a specified period. 3.The learned Additional Government Pleader, Mr.R.Ravichandran, appearing on behalf of the first respondent has no objection for this Court passing an order directing the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.01.2015, in view of G.O.Ms.No.85, Higher Education (J2) Department, dated 16.04.2010.

4.In such circumstances, this Court finds it appropriate to direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.01.2015, in view of the Government Order, in G.O.Ms.No.85, Higher Education (J2) Department, dated 16.04.2010 and pass appropriate orders thereon, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.The writ petition is disposed of with the above observation. No costs.
