PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing the respondents from 1/4
conducting selection to the post of Cook in Adi Dravidar Welfare Department in Salem District solely based on the marks granted in the Interview in violation to Article 14 and 16 of Constitution of India and consequently directing the respondents to adopt the process of selection in consonance to Article 14 and 16 of Constitution of India and as per the procedure established by law and to select and appoint the petitioner to the post of Cook on merits in the selection.

ORDER
The petitioner herein is aggrieved against the selection process conducted pursuant to the notification dated 21.10.2015 inviting applications from eligible persons for the post of Cook and Sweeper. The present writ petition has been filed pending the selection process.
2. A counter affidavit has been filed by the second respondent herein stating that pursuant to the notification, they had called for 1149 candidates for the post of Cook and 137 candidates for the post of Sweeper for the interview held on 29.10.2015. Thereafter, the District Level Selection 2/4
Committee had examined all the certificates of these candidates and based on the recommendation, the District Adi Dravidar Welfare Officer, in his proceedings dated 06.01.2016, had passed orders appointing 80 persons as Cooks in the schools and hostels under their department.
3. Since the selection process itself has concluded, in view of the appointments made, the present writ petition seeking for interference to the selection process cannot be sustained.
4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. In case the petitioner herein has already been selected for the post, the closure of this writ petition shall not stand as a impediment for her to continue the said post. No costs.
