PRAYER:
Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records relating to the notice issued by the respondent dated 03.02.2006 bearing assessment No.14569 in respect of the property bearing Door No.12/A, Katpadi Road, Gudiyattam, calling the petitioner to pay Rs.22,100/- and quash the same as illegal, improper, arbitrary against the rule of law and violation of the principles procedure laid down in the District Municipality Act, and direct the respondent to fix the tax at Rs.940/- per half year with effect from 1999-2000 1-half year.

ORDER
The petitioner challenges the order of the respondent, dated 03.02.2006, whereby, the petitioner was directed to pay the property tax to the tune of Rs.22,100/-.
2. It is submitted by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent that the petitioner without exhausting the alternative remedy of filing an appeal, straightaway approached this Court by filing this writ petition.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is ready to file the appeal before the appellate authority.

4. In the light of the above submissions, I do not find any merit in this Writ Petition. Hence, the writ petition is dismissed, with liberty to the petitioner to prefer an appeal, in the manner known to law. No costs.
