Ref.No.001946/N1/2026 on 12.01.2026 impugned order issued by the 2nd respondent, quash the same and direct the 2nd respondent to transfer from Government Medical College Hospital, Sivagangai District to Government Medical College and Hospital, Thoothukudi District, at present petitioner is working on diversion duty except after conducting proper transfer counselling strictly in accordance with law.

ORDER

The petitioner was posted from Sivagangai District to Thoothukudi District on deputation in the year 2015. However, by the impugned order, the petitioner was relieved from Thoothukudi and was directed to join in Sivagangai District. Challenging the same, the present writ petition has been filed.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that several other persons are allowed to continue in the same District. In this regard, the petitioner has given several representations seeking permission to continue in the Thoothukudi District. However, the same has not been considered and the impugned order came to be passed.

3. It is also brought to the attention of this Court that petitioner's husband is also serving in Thoothukudi. In view of the same, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till the consideration of the petitioner's representation, she may be allowed to continue in the present District. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
