Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue writ of mandamus to direct the first respondent to grant prospecting licence for two years and quarrying lease for 20 years in favour of the petitioner in respect of Government quarry lands measuring 14.00.0 hectares comprised in S.F.No.8/2A, Hill of No.54, Athipadi, Thiruvannmalai, Thiruvannamalai District and show in the sketch annexed with application by considering the petitioner's quarrying lease application dated 29.06.2001, under the Granite Conservation and Development Rules 1999.

ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the first respondent / the Secretary to Government, Industries Department, Chennai, to grant prospecting licence for two years and quarrying lease for 20 years in favour of the petitioner in respect of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Government quarry lands measuring 14.00.0 hectares comprised in S.F.No.8/2A, Hill of No.54, Athipadi, Thiruvannmalai, Thiruvannamalai District and show in the sketch annexed with the application by considering the petitioner's quarrying lease application dated 29.06.2001, under the Granite Conservation and Development Rules 1999.

2. Mr.T.N.Rajagopalan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, by accepting the notice for the respondents, stated that, as the petitioner's representation is pending for consideration, the first respondent may be directed to dispose of the said representation.

3. Recording the above said submission, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the pending representation dated 29.06.2001 of the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
