The petitioner is A5 in S.C.No.115 of 2023, wherein the petitioner is facing trial for the offence under Sections 147, 148, 294(b), 341, 324, 447, 398, 427 & 506(ii) of IPC.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that this Court issued NBW against the petitioner due to his non appearance on 17.07.2025, but at the relevant point of time, he was in judicial custody in connection with NDPS case. Further he was arrested on 19.09.2025 in connection with Cr.No.155 of 2025 and thereafter he was detained under the provisions of Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 on 25.10.2025 and from that date onward he was in judicial custody. Hence he prayed that the petitioner may be released on bail.
The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would submit that there are 22 previous cases pending against the petitioner and presently he was detained under the Goondas Act. Hence he strongly opposed to grant bail to the petitioner.
Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
Considering the rival submissions on either side, nature of offences and the antecedents of the petitioner and also the fact that the petitioner is confined under the provisions of Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 2/4
Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
