ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Seeking a direction to the respondents herein to produce the body or corpus of Viz A.Muikila, aged about 23 years, daughter of Anbusaravanaraja, before this Court and to set her at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Muikila, aged about 23 years, went missing from 17.06.2020 and that the police have not taken any effective steps to secure her, despite the complaint in C.S.R. No. 144 of 2020.

3. On instructions, Mr.R.Prathap Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that a case is Crime No.1412 of 2020 has been registered by the third respondent for women missing and the investigation is in progress. He further submitted that the investigation conducted so far revealed that the petitioner's daughter had eloped with the fourth respondent.

4. Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the third respondent to proceed with the investigation in Crime No. 1412 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. If the detenue is secured, she may be produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate under due intimation to the petitioner.
