Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus directing the second respondent herein to produce the body of the detenu viz., Bharathi, aged about 30 years, the wife of the petitioner, before this Court forthwith from the illegal custody of the third respondent and set her at liberty.

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the second respondent herein to produce the body of the detenu viz., Bharathi, aged about 30 years, wife of the petitioner, before this Court forthwith from the illegal custody of the third respondent and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his wife Bharathi, aged about 30 years, went missing from 24.08.2021 and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her from the illegal custody of the third respondent herein. 3.

On instructions, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Anaicut Police Station Crime No.229 of 2021 for 'woman missing' was registered on 27.08.2021 and investigation is in progress.

In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Madhuranthagam, to supervise the investigation in Anaicut Police Station Crime No.229 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu Bharathi, aged about 30 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Cheyyur, Chengalpattu, under intimation to the petitioner.
