The petitioner who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences under Sections 120(B), 420 of IPC read with Section 5 of TNPID Act in Crime No.01 of 2019 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that, after investigation, petitioner is shown as witness in this case.

3. In the light of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) that, petitioner is not an accused and he is only a witness in this case, this Court is of the view that, anticipatory bail is not necessary.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original petition is dismissed as not necessary.
