Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the 4th respondent to consider the petitioners written representation dated 24.03.2025 presented before 1st respondent in Public Grievance Day under petition No.11320561 for issuance of Patta in respect of house site Plot No.341, comprised in Survey No.397 situated at Erumanur Village, Vriddhachalam Taluk, Cuddalore District and dispose of the same within a time fixed by this court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the 4th respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.03.2025 submitted by her to the 1 st respondent in Public Grievance Day for issuance of Patta in respect of house site Plot No.341, comprised in Survey No.397 situated at Erumanur Village, Vriddhachalam Taluk, Cuddalore District and dispose of the same within the time to be stipulated by this court.

2. According to the petitioner, she was assigned a house measuring an extent of 120 square metres comprised in S.No.397 situated at Erumanur Village, Vridhachalam Taluk. Ever since the date of assignment, she has been in possession and enjoyment of the same by enclosing it with an iron fencing

around it. However, her name was not mutated in the revenue records by the 4th respondent. Hence, she made a representation on 24.03.205 before the 1st respondent, who in turn forwarded the same to the 2nd respondent, and the 2nd respondent in turn on 28.03.2025 forwarded the same to the 4th respondent with a direction to dispose of the same. But, to date, the representation of the petitioner has not been considered. Hence, she had no other option except to approach this court by way of the present writ petition.

3. Heard both sides.

Considering the limited prayer sought by the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim, directs the 4th respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.03.2025 and pass appropriate orders thereof on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing an opportunity to the petitioner.

5. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly with the above directions. No costs.
