Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling upon the records of the second respondent in proceeding No.D-I-I/2018-105-ST dated 13.1.2018 and quash the same and to consequently forbear the first and second respondents from transferring the petitioner pursuant to the impugned order.

The learned Senior Central Government Standing Counsel, appearing on behalf of the Union of India, made a submission that the tenure of the writ petitioner in the present post has already expired as the petitioner had completed 3 years and 5 months of period.
2. This apart, the impugned order of transfer was issued pursuant to the direction issued by the Inspector General of Police and it was not issued at the instance of the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Commandant. Thus, the jurisdiction point raised by the writ petitioner is unsustainable. Thus, the transfer order issued by the Inspector General is in accordance with the Rules and there is no infirmity. However, the facts remains that the tenure of the writ petitioner has already expired, no further adjudication needs to be entertained in respect of the grounds raised in the present writ petition.
3. Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
