Prayer:Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, Calling for the records of the 3rd respondent pertaining to his Na.Ka.No.A4/29704/2013 dated 17.2.2014 and quash the same and further direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner as Grade II Police Constable.

ORDER
The order of rejection, rejecting the candidature of the writ petitioner for selection and appointment to the post of Grade-II Police Constable is under challenge in the present writ petition.
2. The petitioner participated in the process of selection for appointment to the post of Grade-II Police Constable. He was successful in the written examination and participated in the Physical verification test and Endurance test. The competent authorities at the time of verification of character and conduct, found that the petitioner had involved in a criminal https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
case on the file of the Naduveerapattu Police Station. Therefore, the candidature of the writ petitioner was rejected by the third respondent/ Superintendent of Police in proceedings dated 17.02.2014. The criminal case was registered under Section 294(b) of IPC.
3.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents made a submission that subsequently, the writ petitioner was convicted in the criminal case. Involvement in a criminal case is a ground to reject the candidature of the person and in the present case, the candidature of the writ petitioner was rejected on 17.02.2014 and thereafter, the petitioner was convicted in a criminal case.
4.This being the factum, there is no infirmity as such in respect of the order impugned passed by the respondent and consequently, the writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(CS-VI) //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar kak To
