ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by Victoria Gowri, J.) Seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the representation dated 02.03.2026 submitted by the petitioner to the 1st respondent and forwarded to the 2nd respondent and pass appropriate orders rejecting any application for permit to quarry by 5th respondent or anyone claiming through respondents 3 and 4 with respect to land in Survey nos.39 and 40 of Vellore Village, Arakkonam Taluk, Ranipettai District, this petition is filed.
2. Considering the limited scope and relief sought for, notice to respondents 3 to 5 is dispensed herewith.
3. It is needless to state that whenever a representation is made to the statutory authorities, it is the duty of the authorities to dispose of the same within a limited period and non-consideration of representation would amount to dereliction of duty.
4. In view of the same, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.03.2026, after putting the petitioner and respondents 3 to 5 on notice and after affording opportunity of hearing to all the rival parties and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 02.03.2026 and dispose of the same within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, WMP No.20703 of 2026 stands closed. (L.VICTORIA GOWRI, J.)
