ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to challenge the order dated 18.06.2013 passed by the second respondent in No.PA1/0071/TNSTC/DPI/2013 and to direct the third respondent to promote the petitioner as Superintendent with all attendant benefits.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that subsequent to the filing of this writ petition, the petitioner was promoted and he retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation and hence, nothing survives for adjudication.

3. The aforesaid submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents has been agreed by the learned counsel for the petitioner. However, he submitted that the retirement benefits due to the petitioner are yet to be settled and hence, liberty may be given to him to approach the respondents to that extent.

4. Granting such liberty to the petitioner, the writ petition stands disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
