1.S.Selvi 2.M.Lakshmi 3.P.Sudha 4.R.Ramu 5.S.Jyothi .. Respondents This case is taken up for settlement before the Lok Adalat. Both the parties are present. The learned counsel for the appellant Mr.T.Chandrasekaran, learned counsel for the respondents 1 to 5 Mr.R..Kalaichelvan are present. After mutual discussion, negotiation, mediation and conciliation between both parties, they arrived at a compromise to settle the matter as follows:

TERMS OF SETTLEMENT The appellant and his counsel and the respondents and their counsel are present.

2.The Tribunal has awarded a sum of Rs.15,55,000/- with interest at 7.5% per annum from the date of petition till the date of deposit as compensation.

3.Aggrieved against the award of the Tribunal, the appellant/ Transport Corporation has preferred the present appeal. It is represented by the appellant/Transport Corporation that they have already deposited a sum of Rs.25,000/- on 19.07.2023 and a sum of Rs.11,55,609/- deposited ( including tax) on 28.08.2024 as per the conditional order dated 03.06.2024 4.By way of compromise, it is agreed by both parties, that the award amount shall be modified as of Rs.17,00,000 in full quit.

5. The appellant /Transport Corportion is directed to deposit the balance award amount of Rs.5,19,391/- in full quit, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such deposit, the respondents/claimants 1 to 5 are permitted to withdraw equal share with proportionate interest and cost as per apportionment fixed by the Tribunal without filing any formal petition. Award is modified accordingly.

6.The Tribunal is directed to issue the cheques to the parties concerned on proper identification in accordance with the terms of the award, without insisting on any formal permission petition.
