ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to produce Jagathambal, senior citizen, aged about 84 years, before this Court and set her at liberty forthwith.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that her mother Jagathambal, aged about 84 years, went missing from 14.06.2021 from the custody of third respondent and her whereabouts are not known.

3. On instructions, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State, submits that on the complaint given by the third respondent, a case in Thiruvalam P.S Crime No.294 of 2021 for 'woman missing' was registered on 26.06.2021 and investigation is in progress.

4. In view of the above, we direct the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Katpadi, to supervise the investigation in Thiruvalam P.S Crime No.294 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate, Katpadi, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders.

With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
