Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to restore the election connection of the petitioner in SC No.09-577-009-1259 at the petitioner's premises situated in No.211/10, Thaiyur Village, Pattinathamman Koil Street, Periyapilleri, Kelambakkam, Chennai - 603103.

ORDER

By this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction for restoration of electricity connection bearing SC.No.09-577-009-1259.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the service connection was disconnected without even providing any reasons for such disconnection.

3. Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice for the respondents. On instructions, he states that the service connection was disconnected because the wires were low hanging and posed a risk to life. Subject to the petitioner rectifying the said issue, he states that the connection would be restored.

4. The petitioner has also submitted representation dated 17.05.2025 seeking restoration. Subject to the petitioner rectifying the defects indicated by the respondents, upon considering such representation, the respondents are directed to restore the electricity service connection within three days from the date of rectification by the petitioner.

5. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
