Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorari to call for the records relating to Policy No.1300016_CRM_MAS dated 24.03.2014 issued by the 3rd respondent Regional Passport Officer and quash the same and direct the respondent to issue a duplicate passport.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Certiorari to call for the records relating to Policy No.1300016_CRM_MAS dated 24.03.2014 issued by the 3rd respondent, Regional Passport Officer and to quash the same and also to direct the said respondent to issue a duplicate passport. 2.By the above said order the 3rd respondent had impounded the passport of the petitioner herein. It is however informed by Mr.J.Madanagopal Rao, learned Senior Central Government Standing Counsel that the period of the passport had expired and therefore, even if the said order is revisited no benefit would accrue to the petitioner herein.

3.It would be advisable that the petitioner to applies afresh for a new passport in accordance with rules and the same may be considered in accordance with rules by the 3rd respondent. 4.With the above said observation, the present Writ Petition is dismissed.
