Respondent Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to pay 12% interest on the retirement benefits amount for a sum of Rs.9,36,362/- (Rupees Nine Lakhs thirty six Thousand and three hundred and sixty two only) for the period 30.04.2003 to 07.02.2011.

ORDER

When the writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that he will be satisfied that the representation dated 02.10.2018 is disposed of seeking interest at the rate of 12% on the belated payment of retirement benefits of Rs.9,36,362/- for the period from 30.04.2003 to 07.02.2011.

2.In view of the counsel's representation restricting his prayer seeking direction from this Court to dispose of his representation, for which, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would not have any legitimate objection, the Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following direction: https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

The respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.10.2018 for payment of interest towards belated settlement of his retirement benefits for a sum of Rs.9,36,362/- at the rate of 12% and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
