Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of a writ directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner as Assistant Professor (Chemistry) in Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Services for Government Arts and Science Colleges, in compliance of the direction given in G.O.(Ms).No.188 P& AR Department dated 28.12.1976, Government of Tamil Nadu on land acquisition priority.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to appoint the petitioner as Assistant Professor (Chemistry) in Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Services for Government Arts and Science Colleges, in compliance of the direction given in G.O.(Ms).No.188 P& AR Department dated 28.12.1976, Government of Tamil Nadu, on land acquisition priority.

2. The petitioner is qualified with Post Graduation degree and M.Phil. He has also passed State Level Eligibility Test. He was working as guest lecturer in a private college. As per notification, 100 posts were reserved under various categories to fill up the post of Assistant Professors in Chemistry by direct recruitment of Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service for Government Arts and Science Colleges in the year 2013. The petitioner also applied for the post of Assistant Professor and he also attended the certificate verification. Thereafter, he had also attended interview on 25.11.2014.

3. The petitioner has not come under the zone of consideration and as such, he was not selected. Therefore, the direction sought by the petitioner in this writ petition cannot be issued. Thus, the Writ Petition is devoid of merits and the same is liable to be dismissed.

4. Accordingly, Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 28.08.2023 mfa Index: Yes/No Internet: Yes/No
