ORDER
The petitioner has approached this Court some fourteen years after the completion of his schooling, complaining that his date of birth has been wrongly recorded in his school certificates. Whereas, the date of his birth was wrongly given in the certificates as 09.08.1989 instead of 10.08.1989. This is now required to be corrected.
2.Mr.C.Kathiravan, the learned Special Government Pleader has taken notice for the respondents. He circulates G.O.(Ms)No.177, School Education, dated 23.12.2021 and submitted that in terms of the G.O. for making any such correction, a student has to first approach the school where he has passed his schooling with his request and this request has to be forwarded by the concerned Principal /Head Master to the C.E.O., who after fact verification will make recommendation to the Director of School Education. 3.Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned standing counsel takes notice for the fourth respondent and made a statement that once the school records are corrected Page 3/6
and an application is made along with the corrected school records, the University will also carry out appropriate correction in their document. The said statement of the fourth respondent is recorded. 4.The petitioner is now required to file an application to the Principal/Head Master of the school from which he passed out his schooling, who on receipt of the same, shall forward it to the concerned Chief Educational Officer, who on holding an enquiry, shall forward the same to the Director of School Education. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of 12 weeks from the date on which the petitioner files his application before the concerned Head Master/Principal of the school from which he has passed out his schooling.
