ORDER
The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the first Respondent to initiate appropriate action against the office bearers of the 3rd Respondent and others involved, based on petitioner's representation dated 19.10.2023 in time bound manner and pass orders.
2. The petitioner is a member of the District Agriculture Department Advisory Committee and also Organizer of the Farmer's Debate Committee. The case of the petitioner is that during the year 2021, the Government has announced a scheme for the waiver of the crop loans and Agricultural Jewel Loans obtained by the Agriculturalists from 2/6
the various Co-operative credit societies in the state. The Government also issued an order in G.O.(Ms)No.16, Co-operative Food and Consumer Protection Department(CCI) dated 08.02.2021 in which the guidelines and rules were published. The grievance of the petitioner is that the 4th Respondent Society has not implemented the Government guidelines and committed various irregularities in respect of the waiver of the Jewel loans offered by the society to the members. It is pertinent to note that there were beneficiaries who were given waiver loans more than once, there has been instances where multiple loans was given for very same person. Hence, the petitioner has prepared a list of such ineligible beneficiaries and made representation to the first Respondent on 19.10.2023. However, there was no response till date. Hence, this petition.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.10.2023 and pass orders. 3/6
4.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the first Respondent submitted that they will consider the case of the petitioner and take action in the manner known to law.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.10.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
