Prayer : Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the respondents for their act of contempt of court for deliberately disobeying the order dated 06.03.2020 in W.P.No.34741 of 2019. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) A compliance report has been submitted by learned counsel appearing for the contemnors. It is stated that a final report after completion of the investigation has been submitted and, in view of the above, the order dated 06.03.2020 passed in W.P.No.34741 of 2019 has been complied with.

2. With regard to the direction to conduct periodical inspection, it is submitted that the respondents would conduct periodical inspection and take necessary action against anyone indulging in illegal mining.

3. In view of the aforesaid, nothing survives in the contempt petition and, accordingly, it is ordered to be closed with discharge of the notice to the contemnors. However, it would not preclude the petitioner from filing a

fresh writ petition, if illegal mining is again carried on in the future. There will be no order as to costs.
