Crl.O.P.No.14567 of 2023 G.CHANDRASEKHARAN.J., The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 28.05.2023 for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 307 of IPC in Crime No.248 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, petitioner is an accused in Crime No.248 of 2023. Petitioner is in Judicial Custody from 28.05.2023. Thus, he prayed for grant of bail.

3. In reply, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) opposes the petition on the ground that, petitioner under the influence of alcohol had attacked the defacto complainant with knife on his head and caused severe injuries. Defacto complainant is still taking treatment in the hospital. Petitioner is a History Sheeter and there are four previous cases pending against him including one case registered under Section 302 of IPC and 307 of IPC.

4. Considering the gravity of the offence committed by the 1/3

petitioner, nature of injuries suffered by the defacto complainant, nature of weapons used by the petitioner and the fact that the petitioner is a history sheeter and there are four previous cases pending against him and also the fact that the injured victim is still taking treatment in the hospital, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
