N.SATHISH KUMAR, J This application has been filed to permit the applicant to engage the service of sign language interpreter Mrs.Vijaya Baskaran, residing at No.20/33 Balaji Estate, Venkatesa Perumal Nagar, Arumbakkam, Chennai 106, or any other sign language interpreter while the applicant and the first respondent are adducing the evidence of first applicant and first respondent in the above O.P.

2. Heard Mr.S.Ambalavanan, learned counsel for the applicant, Mr.Mangaimannan, learned counsel for the first respondent and mr.Arun Anbumani for the second respondent.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing through Video Conferencing, learned counsel appearing for the applicant would submit

that when the O.P was posted before the Hon'ble III Additional Master, for recording evidence on 10/11/2020, the petitioner, her sister/first respondent are unable to adduce oral evidence, but they can give only sign language evidence. Hence, a request was made before this Court to seek the assistance of Mrs.Vijaya, or any other person to be the interpreter for sign language while adducing the evidence in the above O.P.

4. Considering the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of the application, and also considering the fact that the petitioner and the first respondent are dumb, this Court is of the considered view that to appreciate their evidence, interpreter is required.

5. Accordingly, instant Application is ordered and the petitioner is permitted to take Mrs.Vijaya Bhaskaran, residing at No.20/33 Balaji Estate, Venkatesa Perumal Nagar, Arumbakkam, Chennai 106, who is an associate of Ability Foundation. Remuneration of the interpreter is fixed at

Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty thousand only), and the same shall be paid by the applicant.
