Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents continue to provide the water supply to the petitioner's Canteen namely V.V.R Canteen till the year 2018.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner was a successful bidder and she was given contract to run a Canteen at Thiruvarur Medical College and Hospital at Thiruvarur and she is running a Canteen under the name and style of V.V.R.Canteen. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that during the subsistence of the licence period, which will expire during January, 2018, the water supply given to the said Canteen has been dis-connected without any notice whatsoever and in this regard, submitted representation dated 16.08.2016 to the respondent and despite, receipt of the same, the water supply is yet to be restored and hence, came forward to file this writ petition.

3.Heard the submissions of Mr.K.Sannjay, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.P.Rajalakshmi, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 16.08.2016, in accordance with law and pass orders, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.

5.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
