O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to pay interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits.

2. The petitioner had worked as Sanitary Supervisor in the respondent's Department and retired from service on 31.05.2002. As per the order of this Court in W.P.No.22261 of 2004 dated 04.06.2013, the third respondent was directed to treat the petitioner's service on and from 31.05.2002 and settle all the consequential retirement benefits within a period of four months on receipt of copy of that order. However, the pensionary benefit was settled only on 26.09.2013. Hence, the petitioner is entitled to the interest for the belated payment of benefits as per G.O.M.S.No.122 dated 20.02.1995.

3. In view of the above, the third respondent is directed to pay interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits as per G.O.M.S.No.122 dated 20.02.1995 within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the abovesaid direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 28.08.2023 mfa Index: Yes/No Internet: Yes/No Speaking order/Non Speaking order
