ORDER

The Writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the impugned demand letter in Ka.No.Umithapa/&pa/Kiramam/Bagalur/Ko.APTS/A/2022 dated 24.05.2022 calling upon the petitioner to pay a penalty of Rs.24,81,125/- on account of theft of electricity committed by him.

2. The learned standing counsel for the respondents submitted that while entertaining this writ petition, this Court granted interim stay subject to the condition that the petitioner pays 50% of the impugned demand amount of Rs.12,40,600/- to the second respondent. However, the same has not been complied with so far.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is ready to pay entire amount of Rs.12,40,600/- to the second respondent.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

5. Once the petitioner is admitted his guilt, he has to pay the demand amount. However, this Court has granted time to pay the fine. Since the petitioner has not complied with the order passed by this Court, this Court is not inclined to entertain the present petition and the same is liable to be dismissed.

6. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
