O R D E R

The petitioner sought for a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.12.2012 and consequently directing the respondent to grant licence to run the small canteen in G.N.Chetty Road, T.Nagar, Chennai-17 (Back side of Ramakrishna School.)

2. The petitioner is a dis-abled person seeking for licence to run a canteen at G.N.Chetty Road, T.Nagar, Chennai-17 and in this regard, she has submitted a representation to the respondent. Since no action has been taken by the respondents to consider the representation, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the first respondent submits that pursuant to the representation, an enquiry was conducted on 26.03.2013, in which, the petitioner has participated. He would further submit that as far as granting licence to run canteen in public places is concerned, the Department of PWD, Corporation of Chennai, is the competent authority.

4. The Commissioner, Corporation of Chennai, is suo-motu impleaded as a party-respondent namely the second respondent.

5. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that he may be given liberty to make a fresh representation to the Corporation of Chennai for the relief.

6. Under such circumstances, the petitioner is granted liberty to make a fresh representation to the second respondent and on receipt of the same, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and pass orders in accordance with law.

With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
