Heard Mrs.Vedavallikumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
2. The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to strike out the name change made in the month of June 2014 relating to service connection No.01-193-001-266 pertaining to door No.166/281, Triplicane High Road, Chennai 600 005.
3. This Writ Petition has been filed based on the legal notice issued on 02.07.2014. It appears that the petitioner is a tenant and the building belongs to an Educational Trust. The grievance of the petitioner is that though the service connection was issued in his name, but without any notice and enuqiry, it was changed in the name of the Trust.
4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would state that the service connection was transferred in the name of Nawab C.Abdul Hakeem Educational Trust, since on the date of inspection of the premises i.e., on 17.06.2014, the service connection was unutilized by the petitioner and the rental agreement was also cancelled.
5. Considering the grievance expressed by the petitioner, this Court permits the petitioner to give a fresh representation to the second respondent within a period of two weeks. On such receipt, the second respondent shall pass orders in accordance with law within a period of three months therefrom, after affording opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as the third respondent herein.
6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There is no order as to costs.
