ORDER

The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing the respondents to pay a sum of Rs.28,99,600/- with interest for surgical instruments and other medical equipments that she claims to have been supplied to the Dean, 1/4

Government Medical College and Hospital, Ariyalur. 2.

According to the petitioner, several supplies have been effected by her and while some of the supplies have been paid for, substantial outstanding of a sum Rs.28,99,600/- remains. The petitioner has been repeatedly approaching the Dean, Government Medical College Hospital, Ariyalur / R2 setting out the details of the outstandings, to no avail.

Petitioner relies on communications dated 08.04.2023 and 02.06.2023, wherein the authorities have stated that grant is awaited from R1, being the Director of Medical Education and Research as to under which head, the payment should be effected. She is aggrieved by the delay in settlement of claims.

Mr.K.Tippu Sultan, learned Government Advocate, who appears for the respondents would assure the Court that the needful will be done expeditiously.

Hence mandamus is issued to R1 to hear the petitioner on Friday, 28.06.2024 at 11.00 a.m., and pass orders on her request for settlement of outstanding expeditiously. In any event, the outstandings must be quantified and paid over to the petitioner with interest, as per the terms governing the contract inter se the parties, within a period of twelve

(12) weeks from date appearance of the petitioner before R1, in accordance with law. The date and time of hearing has been fixed after seeking mutual convenience of the parties.

Writ petition stands disposed in terms of this order. No costs. 2/4
