ORDER

Mr.G.Krishnaraja, learned Government Counsel takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the time of admission itself.

2. According to the petitioner, she is a widow living with her children. During the year 1991, the Slum Clearance Board alloted a land at Plot No. 157 at Sakthi Vinayagar Koil Street, Chennai in the name of her mother-in-law. While so, the petitioner's father-in-law and mother-in-law passed away on on 09.11.2010 and 15.02.2017 respectively. Pursuant to her motherin law's demise, owing to deterioration of health, her husband also passed away on 01.09.2017 leaving behind the petitioner and her children to inherit the plot of her mother-in-law. Therefore, she made an application on 25.01.2021 for issuance of a legal heirship certificate before the first respondent. Finding no response on the same, she submitted a representation dated 23.02.2021 to the respondents, which is also kept pending, till date. Hence, the petitioner has come up with this writ petition seeking appropriate direction to the respondents in this regard.

3. Heard both sides and perused the materials placed before this court.

4. Considering the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, this court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.02.2021 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as any other interested parties, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
