Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd Respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation dated 19.7.2021 followed by a reminder dated 21.8.2021 submitted by the petitioner through the Secretary B Sector Anna Nagar Western Extension Association wherein a request was made to the 2nd Respondent to stop letting of sewage water into the storm water drain (SWD) on Park Road. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard the learned counsel appearing for the respective parties.

2. The writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent for consideration of the representation of the petitioner dated 19.7.2021 followed by the reminder dated 21.8.2021.

3. The said representation dated 19.7.2021 was given to the second respondent seeking to stop letting of sewerage water into the storm water drain in the road in question.

4. Initially, it was informed that there were 92 persons, who were discharging the sewerage water into the storm water drain. After identifying those persons, 82 persons, who are living there, were given connection. As per the latest status report filed by the learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondents 4 and 5 and as submitted by the learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondents 1 to 3, all the residents of the area in question have been given sewerage connection and thereby, there is no mixing of sewerage water into the storm water drain. An affidavit to that effect has been submitted and is taken on record.

5. Finding that the grievance raised by the petitioner has been resorted to, the writ petition has become infructuous and is dismissed as such.
