This Criminal Original Petition is filed for direction to the respondent police to register the First Information Report forwarded by 1/4

the XVI Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town, Chennai, on 25.07.2022 and complete the investigation in accordance with law. 2.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the complaint under Section 156 (3) of Cr.P.C., was forwarded by the XVI Metropolitan Magistrate to the 1st respondent on 25.07.2022 to register the complaint and report. Despite lapse of two years, the respondent police has not registered the complaint. 3.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police states that the complaint has now been registered on 29.06.2024 in Crime No.333 of 2024 for offence under Sections 294(b), 354 & 506(i) IPC.

Taking note of the inordinate delay in filing the First Information Report for about two years, the Investigating Officer is directed to complete the investigation within a period of two months and file final report before the XVI Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town, Chennai.
