The limited prayer sought for in the present petition is for a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2018, seeking not to conduct the Rekla Race.

In view of the limited prayer sought for and without going into the merits of the case made by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the respondent police to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2018, on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. In view of the ensuing festival, the respondent police shall endevaour to pass appropriate orders on or before 14.01.2018. Accordingly, the criminal original petition stands disposed of.
